Who We Are
Totalnannies.com was founded by Charlotte and John. Charlotte has been working in the field of cultural exchange programs for the last 20 years. She assists clients on how to find a nanny and Au pairs
Our mission statement is:
- To increase the understanding of foreign countries, their history and their culture.
- To increase international understanding by arranging for young (and more "mature") people to visit and stay with host families abroad.
- To increase the understanding of different cultures by host families
- To increase the amount of people learning foreign languages
- To provide high quality child care with carefully selected candidates
Totalnannies.com has a highly professional multi-lingual team with a vast experience in organizing high quality educational, cultural exchange programs and high quality child care staff. We pride ourselves in being able to give a fast personalized service.
We strive to give excellent customer service and offer one of the most extensive post-placement backup services on the market. All candidates placed in a family through our company will be supported throughout their stay abroad. Every candidate placed overseas is put in contact with a post-placement co-ordinator who is available throughout their stay as a contact point for any questions, queries and to try and solve any problems that might arise. The Co-ordinator can also act as a go-between between the candidate and the family if necessary. As a candidate travelling abroad you can leave home with the assurance that you will be looked after throughout your stay.
As a parent you can trust our company to provide your daughter or son with a placement in a professional host family. We are always available to answer any queries you may have concerning your child's host family. We will also provide contact details of our network of nannies working in your daugher or son's placement area so she can make her first friends and feel part of a community.
To host families we can offer assurance that all our candidates are thoroughly screened before being accepted on the program. All references are personally verified and all candidates are personally interviewed. We have offices in central London where candidates in the South East of England are interviewed and we have a network of correspondents worldwide who recruit and personally interview all candidates. A thorough interview report gets compiled for every application.

Our promises
In the 18 years since our birth in 2002 we’ve learnt a thing or two about recruiting, screening and placing candidates overseas but the one thing we often get asked is:
“what makes Totalnannies different ?”
It is a tough question (if you really care about it) and after this long in business we had better have a good answer! In a perverse kind of way it’s actually taken 18 years to really find out who and what we are.
Some soul searching and chat in the office led us to seven key points that we would love to share with you as “pledges”. We believe what makes us a great company to work with is that we genuinely (and always) pledge to:
- listen, care about, support and advise both parents and candidates whilst working to the highest standards both morally and technically
- continually develop, upgrade and improve our processes of recruitment
- build technology that simplifies the recruitment process without losing the personal touch
- Offer our expertise that helps parents make the right choice of candidate and helps candidates chose the right family for them
- be the best child care recruitment agency possible, to study and learn from other agencies
- never prevent you from leaving (by tie-in contract or any obstruction), instead we’ll learn why you left and improve to get you back
- continue to make all paid services optional, clearly priced and listed publicly on our website, ensuring we advise honestly and openly as to their value and use to your business
Note: the order of these pledges are as they came to us, we’ll shortly be asking both parents and candidates which are the most important to them then re-order accordingly.
These aren’t some corporate bull, in fact they have always been guiding us we just haven’t really thought much about it. They are part of our DNA, developed from those that work with us and for us, those that support us to grow and all those that used to work with us, they are our history and our future.

Jason - Office Coordinator
Responsible for the running and administration of the office. Also manages social media campaigns. Handles PR. Member of the Totalnannies Team since 2012. Currently working for Totalnannies on a freelance basis.
Charlotte - Positions Coordinator
Responsible for all client relationships and coordinating placements and negotating contracts. Liason between clients and candidates. Runs Vip Nanny Program. Co-founder and member of the Totalnannies Team since 2002. Charlotte is the most senior member of our staff. Read Interview
Harry - Applications Coordinator
Responsible for all candidate relationships and coordinating candidate applications and quality control of applications. Interviews the majority of candidates. Liason between candidates and clients. Co-founder and member of the Totalnannies Team since 2002.
