ACCOMMODATION IN A FAMILY

If your chose accommodation in a family whilst studying at the school, you will have the unique opportunity to live like a real New Yorker. Students are accommodated in single or double (2 students that arrive together) private rooms where the bathroom and kitchen is usually shared with the family. The host family could be a single person or a family. The prices for accommodation in a family in Manhattan are inclusive of breakfast every day and those in other areas of New York like Brooklyn and Queens, are inclusive of half board (breakfast and evening meal). All accommodation in families is near public transport and about 30-60 minutes from the school.

ACCOMMODATION IN RESIDENCE HALLS

HIRSCH RESIDENCE ON 92^ND STREET Y-MANHATTAN

Students can request a single or double room in this modern residence. It is situated in one of the nicest areas of Manhattan, only 3 blocks from Central Park, and near many museums and shops. There is a kitchen on every floor and laundry facilities in the residence hall. The rooms are cleaned and the linen changed every week. Breakfast on weekdays in the nearby restaurants is included in the price. The Hirsch Residence is situated near public transport and only 20 minutes from the school. Stays of 1-7 weeks are inclusive of the use of the gym. Stays of 8 weeks or more can use the gym by paying a small supplement.

VANDERBILT YMCA- MANHATTAN

Situated in the heart of Manhattan, it offers single or double rooms (2 students arriving together). It is near the United Nations, the Great Central Station and near many Department stores. The rooms are cleaned every day and are comfortable. Every room has a TV and air conditioning. One can chose from the restaurant or restaurants nearby to have breakfast, on weekdays. The price includes access to the large gym that has an Olympic swimming pool, an indoor running track and body building equipment. The Vanderbilt Residence is only 5 minutes from the school.

TEN EYCK-TROUGHT MEMORIAL RESIDENCE FOR BUSINESS WOMEN-MANHATTAN

It offers single rooms only for women. Every room has a washbasin and telephone. Students have access to laundry facilities, a gym, and common TV, music and sewing rooms. There is a solarium and a garden terrace on the roof, It is situated in a residential area in the centre of Manhattan. The minimum stay is 4 weeks. A deposit of £473.00 must be paid on arrival, which will be refunded on departure. Air conditioning is available by paying a supplement. The price is inclusive of half board (breakfast and evening meal) in the restaurant. The residence is only a short walk from the school.

FLUSHING YMCA- QUEENS

This residence is situated in Queens and offers single and double rooms (2 students arriving together). Every room has a color TV and air conditioning. The rooms are cleaned daily and the price is inclusive of meals. The YMCA Flushing is 5 minutes on foot from the underground and 40 minutes by underground from the school. It is also well connected to the airports and many bus routes. It is also situated in a commercial area full of shops.

“JAZZ ON THE PARK” HOSTEL-MANHATTAN

This new hostel on the fifth floor without a lift is situated in an ideal position, west of Central Park, 35 minutes from the school by Underground. The hostel has two terraces on the roof, a TV room, a launderette, a left luggage and a video games room. The linen is changed every day and the hostel is open 24 hours a day.
