Job Description

Florence. Mother's help needed for family with two children, Beatrice aged 4 & Leonardo aged 3. The parents are separated. The children mainly live with mum and spend weekends and other periods of time with dad. Dad has his own business, mum does not work. The family speak English, French and of course Italian. The children go to nursery school from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm. The school is 10-15 minutes by car or public transport. Mum lives in the suburbs of Florence in Fiesole, 10 minutes by car and 15 minutes by public transport from the center. It is like being in Florence but more peaceful. Dad lives in the city center. Requirements: Ability to Cook/Driver/Non-Smoker/Experience/English Mother Tongue/Minimal knowledge of Italian or Spanish/Willing to do Housework. The family are looking for an experienced candidate who is enthusiastic, flexible and pleasant and who can really connect with the children and be a point of reference for them and their growth. Duties: Speak English and teach the children English. Play with the children and spend time with them. Educate them, (good manners, nice habits, teach them how to play together etc), stimulating their emotional and intellectual growth with interesting games and activities (reading books, drawing, doing puzzles, playing with Lego, writing, counting etc). Taking the children to nursery, to the park and different activities based on the family's needs. You will be required to work weekends and your time off will be during the week. You will however have 1 free weekend per month. You are also required to travel with the family for family holidays and short breaks and also be available to travel with the children and one of the parents on a regular basis (for example to the mountains skiing or overseas). This is a position where the candidate will mainly help the father with the children from Thursday evening to Monday morning and during holidays and short breaks. Tuesdays and Wednesdays will be off and Mondays and Thursdays you will do some general light housework (normally nobody is at home). Use of car and internet is given. 6 month placement. Accommodation: own private bedroom in a nice house in the city center. Approx hrs of work: 9.00 am to 1.00 pm 3.00 pm top 8.00 pm. Total daily hrs: 9. Time off: 2 days including evenings and another 3 evenings off per week. You are asked to babysit for a maximum of 2 evenings a week. You would go with them. They have a small dog who lives with grandma. This is a nice position. Florence is a very popular city with a large international community and lots to see and do. There are other mother's helps working in the area.
